The Yellow Triteleie ( Triteleia ixioides ) is a species of the genus in the subfamily Triteleia Brodiaeoideae.

Features

The Yellow Triteleie is a very rich in forms perennial herbaceous plant, plant height ( 10) reaches 50 to 80 inches. This Geophyt forms onions as outlasting. The 1-2 leaves are 10 to 50 × 0.3 to 1.5 inches tall.

10 to 30 flowers are borne in a doldigen inflorescence. The perianth is pale yellow to golden yellow and 12 to 27 millimeters long. The Perigonröhre has a size of 3 to 10 mm, the petals are 6-20 mm long and bent back. The ovary is longer than its stalk. The stamens have above two winged appendages.

The flowering time is in June.

Occurrence

The Yellow Triteleie comes in western North America in central and northern California and southwestern Oregon in oak and pine forests, forest edges and stream banks at altitudes from 0 to 3000 meters before. It is often, found on sand but also partly on serpentine.

Use

The Yellow Triteleie is rarely used as an ornamental plant in rock gardens and discounts. It is in culture at least since 1812.
