TSV Hanau

The 1860 Hanau is a gymnastics and sports club from the city of Hanau in the Rhine -Main Region in Hesse. Nationally known was mainly in the Lamboy District / pond garden club rooted primarily through its successful, before the Second World War, football department.

Club History

In 1840, the group was created Association of Cigarrenarbeiter that is specified by the 1860 Hanau as his legitimate predecessor. Hanau was an early stronghold of football in Germany, who gradually found his followers from the 1890s in the cities of the Empire. 1894, a year after the founding of the local pioneer team FC Hanau 93 was the FC Viktoria in 1894, one of the predecessors of today's associations 1860, lifted out of the baptism.

By joining forces now wanted to assert itself permanently in the top-level football, but at the end of the 1928/29 season and the merged team dismounted.

The merged team played from 1939 to 1941 in the Gauliga Hesse South and 1941 /42 in the Gauliga Hessen- Nord, before they, too, suffered the descent.

After the war, the team's 1945/46, started in the second-class division, but got off after only two seasons and disappeared gradually deeper and deeper into the lower leagues. In the season 2011/12 is the football team of TSV Hanau 1860 - this is the club since March 23, 1957 - located in the district league Hanau.

So the last great media attention and was not sporting performance, but the fact that the club's Rudi Voeller - sports complex was inaugurated on 30 August 2002 in the presence of which emerged from the junior section of the club talent Rudi Völler.
