Turan-T IK

PFK Turan Tovuz is an Azerbaijani football club from Tovuz.

History

The club was founded in 1954 under the name FC Turan. He belonged in 1992 to the 26 teams that took part after the country's independence in the newly founded Premyer Liqasi. Right off the bat you were first in a preliminary round group, but the season in the championship final could only finish third. The following year they lost in the discharged with a new championship mode until the semi-final against Qarabağ Agdam 0-1 after extra time.

1993/94 when it was first played without preliminary round, sealed the biggest success of the club's history. With one point ahead of Qarabağ Aghdam Turan was Azerbaijani champion and Musa Kurbanov, the top striker of the team, was charged with 35 goals scorer. So they played the following season for the first time on the international stage in qualifying for the Champions League.

Also in the following years could be located in the front panel to place, but in 2000 the club narrowly escaped relegation, only in the penultimate round to secure the league succeeded. 2001 Turan landed back in the safe midfield.

The 2002 season was canceled by the Azerbaijani Association, 2003 no championship was held. Instead, they took part in the tournament to mark the 65 th anniversary of Neftchi Baku, but this difference without a win in the first round out.

The first regular season 2003/ 04 after the dispute with the State Association ended the club as a table Thirteenth and prevented the descent only because they benefited from the exclusion of Lokomotiv Imisli and Umid Baki and the subsequent increase in the league.

2004/ 05 reached to fourth place in the following season they finished sixth.
