Tyler Arnason

Tyler Arnason ( born March 16, 1979 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) is a Canadian- American professional ice hockey player who was most recently with the Texas Stars in the American Hockey League contract. His father, Chuck Arnason was also professional hockey player and active in the NHL.

Career

Arnason was born in Oklahoma City, as his father in the Central Hockey League was at this time for the Oklahoma City Stars on the ice, but then grew up in Winnipeg, Canada, in the province of Manitoba. As the son of Canadian parents was born in the United States, he has both the Canadian and the U.S. citizenship.

The 1.80 m wide center first played in various junior leagues, during his college days, he stood for the St. Cloud State University in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, a league game in the operation of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, on the ice. NHL Entry Draft 1998 Links shooter was finally selected as the 183 in the seventh round by the Chicago Blackhawks ( drafted ).

In the following three years he played for the Avalanche in the NHL before he signed a contract with the New York Rangers in the summer of 2009. This put him in the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack a while. In early November 2009, Arnason opted for a move to Europe and signed a contract with Dinamo Riga. There he received after the 2009/10 season a new contract and was initially without a club. In October 2010, Arnason moved to Switzerland for EHC Biel, but only received a contract for over a month.

Arnason has been committed by the EHC Visp to the end of the 2010/11 season in November 2010. After a charity match against SC Bern and a championship game against the HC La Chaux -de-Fonds Arnason was released due to a release clause in his contract again. In January 2011, he was commissioned by the Finnish first division club Espoo Blues under contract. After eight games, his contract end of February 2011 was dissolved at his own request and Arnason returned to North America. In October 2011, he completed a tryout with the Texas Stars, for which he completed seven AHL games. In the same month he finished, however, its involvement in Cedar Park.
