Udo Dirkschneider

Udo Dirk Schneider ( born April 6, 1952 in Wuppertal ) is a German heavy metal singer who was formerly active as a singer of the metal band Accept. After his departure from Accept 1987 Dirk Schneider formed the band UDO. This band paused temporarily while Dirk Schneider was briefly returned to Accept. Udo Dirk Schneider is known for his " raspy voice " and for his small stature.

Youth

At the age of 12 years, Dirk Schneider received the Beatles record I'm Down. From then on, his obsession with the music began. After listening to the Rolling Stones, the Beatles were like " washcloth " on him. With 14 years of Dirk Schneider received a keyboard. At this time he had no interest in singing. A classmate Dirk Schneider was the later producer Michael Wagener. This started at the same time playing the electric guitar, so that both formed a band. Later, Dirk Schneider decided to sing instead of playing keyboard. After the two had played three years in clubs, in 1971 they changed the name of their band Accept.

Career

Dirk Schneider succeeded thanks to the producer Dieter Dierks, to advance with his band Accept in the early 80's the figurehead of the German Metal. Worldwide success and over 2 million copies sold of the album Balls to the Wall strengthened the status of the band.

In 1987 he left the band in friendship, because his voice was not considered enough for the masses and the rest of the band are now willing to gamble on music in the style of Scorpions.

Dirk Schneider subsequently founded the band U.D.O. in which it is also the only constant. With U.D.O. he remained faithful to the classic heavy metal, and with the first album Animal House, he continued the style of Balls to the Wall. 1990 had to be canceled because of physical problems Dirk Schneider the tour the band. A year later, the band split then quite. In the years 1992-1996 Udo Dirk Schneider spent his time with his old band Reunion Accept. When the group was disbanded, he reactivated the band UDO. Collaborations with other musicians

In 1999, Hammerfall took a version of the classic Helloween I Want Out, on Udo Dirk Schneider and Kai Hansen had guest appearances. Dirk Schneider sang back-up vocals, while Kai Hansen and Joacim Cans sang the lead vocals. Dirk Schneider also sang guest vocals on the Hammerfall version of the Accept song Head Over Heels.

Also seen he is in a music video for the song Shtil ' ( Штиль ) of the Russian heavy metal band Arija ( Ария ).

Dirk Schneider took in 1983 is also a version of the song Born to Be Wild along with the NWOBHM band Raven on. A well-known collaboration is the duet on the rock ballad Dancing with an Angel with Doro Pesch. In 2006, with the band Lordi, he recorded the song They Only Come Out at Night for her album The Arockalypse. Two years later he sang this song at the Wacken Open Air along with Lordi. Mr. Lordi himself said in a Kerrang! Interview that the song Do not Look Back and Flash Of Lightning UDO changed his life.

Dirk Schneider is a guest vocalist on the song " Addicted to Metal" on the eponymous album Kissin ' Dynamite. Udo Dirk Schneider will go in December of 2013 with the 32- köpfigem Magnum Opum Rockestra, led by Marcel Heijnen on a special Christmas Metal Symphony Tour. Other singers of this project are Michael Kiske, Joey Belladonna, Chuck Billy, Joacim Cans and Floor Jansen.
