Ūkio bankas

The AB bankas UKIO ( German Economic Bank) was a Lithuanian bank. She was the oldest private bank in Lithuania, one of the " Top 5 " of the Lithuanian banks and was listed on the Vilnius Stock Exchange, December 4, 2006 to 2013 also in the " OMX Baltic 10 index " of the Nordic OMX listed, the ten largest and most liquid stocks ( blue chips ) in the Baltic region contains (initial weight 6.05% ). The headquarters of the company was Kaunas, the bank had 41 branches. The administrator Adomas Audickas led unification talks with the Šiauliai Bank, which took over the obligations. The debts of the UKIO bankas were around 1.1 billion litas ( approximately 319 million euros ) higher than the assets.

Management

Chairman was Liutauras Varanavičius. CEO was Edita Karpavičienė, deputy chairman was Gintaras Ugianskis, at the same time administration manager. Other board members were Rolandas Balandis, Antanas Grigaliauskas ( also the director of UAB " UKIO lizingas banco " ) and Arnas Žalys.

Shareholder

  • Foreign private investors: 51.4 %
  • Domestic investors: 48.6 %

Main shareholder was the Russian-born Lithuanian businessman Vladimir Nikolaevich Romanov. He is currently holding nearly one-third of the shares directly. He is also Chief Executive Officer of Banco UKIO investicinė grupė (investment group of UKIO bankas ) ( ŪBIG ). His son, Roman Vladimirovich Romanov sits in some management or supervisory boards of subsidiaries. (Source: company website, as of January 2007)

On September 30, 2006, the Bank had a total of 6227 shareholders.

December 31, 2003, total assets amounted to 276.6 million euros and the market share to 4.4%, in 2005 the total assets amounting to approx 637 million euros.

Structure

UKIO bankas had five subsidiaries:

  • UAB UKIO Banco investicijų valdymas: investment company;
  • UAB UKIO Banco lizingas: registered capital is 1 million LTL or EUR 300,000, all shares ( 100,000 pieces ) had UKIO bankas;
  • UAB Turto valdymo Strategija: registered capital is 1 million LTL, all shares ( 100,000 pieces ) had UKIO bankas;
  • UAB Turto valdymo sistemos: registered capital is 1 million LTL, all shares ( 100,000 pieces ) had UKIO bankas;
  • UAB Turto valdymo sprendimai: registered capital is 1 million LTL, all shares ( 100,000 pieces ) had UKIO bankas.

The bank also had 19.99% shares of the insurance company UAB Bonum Publicum ( share capital amounts to 8.01 million LTL, UKIO bankas has 1601 shares pieces ) and 24.8 % shares of the Lithuanian investment group UKIO Banco investicinė grupė ( ŪBIG ). To UKIO bankas group and the Balkan Investment Bank was ad Banja Luka, where the UKIO bankas 49%, the Banco UKIO investicinė grupė 51 % of the shares held. (As at 30 June 2005)
