Ulm Railway Society

The Ulm railway enthusiasts eV ( UEF) are an association to promote the conservation of historical value railway material. The club was founded in 1969, has about 600 members and has over twelve steam locomotives as well as numerous historic cars.

Sections

The association is divided into four sections:

Section narrow gauge railway

Is driving the 5.7 km long narrow gauge line Amstetten - Oppingen ( Albbähnle ) with their own vehicles. Is used the locomotive 99 7203, partly also the diesel locomotive D8.

Section Lokalbahn

On the club's own route Amstetten - Gerstetten ( local railway Amstetten - Gerstetten ) run historic local railway steam trains, and since mid- 2006, the museum railcar T06. Occasionally also operate freight trains. The steam locomotive 75 1118 moves the historic steam trains. The Section (UEF local railway Amstetten - Gerstetten eV ) has more diesel locomotives and railcars as well as historic branch line passenger cars.

Section Ettlingen

On some railroads Albtal Traffic society Ettlingen bath Herrenalb and between Karlsruhe and Baiersbronn A historic express train with a steam locomotive class 58 ( Badische G12). This was built in 1921 at the Maschinenbau-Gesellschaft Karlsruhe. 50 2740 is used on the Albtal and Murgtalbahn.

Are stationed at necropsy Ettlingen more steam locomotives, but not operational are (Series 44 and Series 86). The car of the express train were mostly built in the 30s and modernized in the '50s. In stationed in Ettlingen baggage car, which is usually used for the free bicycle transportation, the remains of Frederick the Great of Hechingen were transferred to Potsdam.

Section Historical Steam Express

The Section maintains the most famous steam locomotive of Ulm railway enthusiasts, the 01 in 1066, as well as the historical Schnellzugwagen the 1st and 2nd class. Built by vehicles 1928-1954 Historical Steam Express - reinforced by the express train passenger cars of the Passau railway enthusiasts - is traveling throughout Europe, for example in Italy, France, Hungary, Sweden and Russia ( Kaliningrad ). ; but mostly in southern Germany. The express steam locomotives and a functional Heizwagen are stationed in the South German Railway Museum Heilbronn, the cars in Stuttgart. In Augsburg Railway Park the inoperable 01 1081 is worked as a museum exhibit.

The Section took over the 01 173 loan. The locomotive is worked operational.

About the voyages of Ulm railway enthusiasts is regularly reported in the trade press and in television programs such as railway romance.

Traction

The total acceleration is performed by volunteer club members, from the car attendant to the tested engine driver. This includes not only alone in front of the driving, but also the work and after use, and - to the extent feasible and permissible - restoration and repair work.
