Ultima Thule (Swedish band)

Ultima Thule is a rock band from Nyköping (Sweden ), which was founded in 1983. The band is one of the oldest and most famous Viking rock bands and since 1990 from Niklas Adolfsson, Thomas Krohn, Ulf Hansen and Jan " Janne " Thörnblom. Because of their contacts with the extreme right in Sweden and their patriotic and often nationalistic songs it is often associated with the right rock.

The name of the band comes from the Ancient Greek civilization and is the northernmost edge of the world.

History

The band was founded in 1983 by Bruno Hansen (vocals, guitar), Niklas Adolfsson (guitar ), Thomas Krohn (bass) and Ulf Hansen (drums). At the beginning it belonged to the far-right skinhead scene. In 1985, she debuted with the published about Sveamål EP Sverige, Sverige fosterland ( the song you gamla du fria also appeared on the right rock sampler No Surrender! Rock -O -Rama ). Singer Bruno Hansen left the group in 1987, which remained relatively unsuccessful until the mid- 1990s.
