Ulu Grosbard
Ulu Grosbard ( born January 9, 1929 in Antwerp, † March 19, 2012 in Manhattan, New York) was an American theater and film director.
Life
The family emigrated to Cuba in the United States. Grosbard began his career in the theater and had great success on Broadway. Into the film business he came first as a production manager and assistant director before he directed his first film in 1968.
1995 Grosbard was awarded with the Grand Prix Festival of the Americas for his film Georgia on the World movie. He was also nominated for the Independent Spirit Awards for Best Director.
