Ulukışla

Ulukışla is a town and a district in the Turkish province of Nigde. The town lies about 50 kilometers south of the provincial capital Nigde near the meeting of the roads D -805 of Nigde and the E-90 from Ankara to Tarsus.

The district is located in the south of the province and is bordered to the northeast by Camardi, in the north of boron, on the west by the province of Konya, south to Mersin and Adana in the southeast. Ulukışla located on the north side of the Bolkar Dağları, west of the city lies the pass Ulukışla Geçidi, in the plain of Ereğli ( Ereğli Ovasi ) leads.

Attractions

About ten kilometers east of the settlement mound Ulukışla Porsuk Höyük (also expressed Zeyve Höyük ), which was inhabited by the Hittites to the Byzantine period. Approximately 25 kilometers northeast of the city at the present site Başmakçı lie the ruins of the ancient Faustinopolis.
