United Internet

The United Internet AG based in Montabaur is a publicly listed Internet providers and listed on the Nasdaq. The company operates a total of eight brands and numerous subsidiaries in two business segments. Nucleus of the group is 1 & 1 Internet AG, which generates most of the Group's sales.

History

The history of the company dates back to the 1 & 1 EDV -Marketing GmbH, which is founded in 1988 by Ralph Dommermuth and Wendelin Abresch as service providers for marketing and advertising. In the 1990s, the company grows to a large group, in addition to web hosting packages also offers its own online service that allows users to dial into the Internet itself.

In 1998, 1 Internet AG is the 1 & participation at the Karlsruhe Internet provider Schlund Partner, which will be increased in 2000 to 100 percent. In the course of the establishment of the United Internet AG, under whose umbrella the entire web hosting and access business in subgroup 1 & 1 has been merged.

First United Internet operates as a partnership limited by shares, but later transformed into a pure corporation. The Company is the successor to the 1 & 1 GmbH & Co. KG.

The company is traded on the stock exchange since March 1998, while ordinary shares come with a theoretical share in the capital of one euro to use. The IPO of United Internet is still before the wedding of the new economy, but the stock reached on the first trading day closing at over 200 percent of the issue price.

In the years 2000 to 2003, the occurrence of subsidiary 1 & 1 in various foreign markets, including Britain, France and the United States takes place.

In May 2005, takes over United Internet portal and e -mail business from Web.de, which is merged together with the in-house offer GMX in the 1 & 1 Mail & Media GmbH.

In May 2009, United Internet is pleased to announce the acquisition of the DSL business Freenet AG. Products

1 & 1

The 1 & 1 Internet AG ( 1 & 1 called ) is the nucleus of the group and one of the world's largest Internet provider. The headquarters of 1 & 1 is also located in Montabaur, other locations within Germany are Karlsruhe and two bridges. Fasthosts

The Fasthosts Internet Ltd. was founded in November 1999 in the UK and is in the field of web hosting, domains, e -Commerce and e-mail hosting active. Fasthosts heard since May 2006, United Internet, has spent for the acquisition of 61.5 million pounds (about 90 million euros ). Sedo

Sedo is a global market for the trading and marketing of domains. Affilinet

Affilinet specializes in marketing through affiliate marketing and is one of the largest such networks at all. Across Europe, about 2,500 programs and more than 530,000 websites are registered there. Arsys

In August 2013, United Internet announced the 100% acquisition of the Spanish web host Arsys via 1 & 1 Internet AG. Arsys claims to be the largest Spanish web host with 150,000 customers and EUR 40 million in annual sales, the brand should be managed independently in Spain.

Structure

United Internet is structured as a coordinated group. All companies are assigned to one of two subgroups 1 & 1 or Sedo. Essentially, United Internet is divided into the following companies:
