University of Georgia (Tbilisi)

The Georgian University of Social Sciences - CAST (Georgian საქართველოს საზოგადოებრივ მცენიერებათა უნივერსიტეტში ) in Tbilisi is a nationally recognized private university in Georgia. It offers theoretical and practical courses in the fields of business administration, law, political science and journalism and computer science.

History

The University was founded on the initiative of professors Giuli Alasania and Manana Sanadse 2002, of the Georgian Technical University under the name Center for American Studies and initially was exclusively students majoring open. Goal of the center should be to the U.S. to study as the most successful country in the world. Soon were the studies were extended to Europe and western management techniques offered in business administration, public administration, culture and education.

On 21 July 2004, the center was transformed to school for social sciences in the legal form of a UK Limited Company (Ltd. ). Shareholders were the Georgian Technical University and the professors Alasania and Sanadse. In the same year the school was renamed to the Georgian University of Social Sciences. On August 18, 2005, she was recognized as a university according to the guidelines of the Georgian Law on Higher Education.

Target and Study Programs

Goal of CAST is to train qualified young people for an organized according to modern Western standards, administration, economy and media. There in 2005 studied more than 300 students. You are offered by the university English language courses and, due to the degree program, internships in Parliament, in the presidential administration, in newspapers and press agencies.

The CAST offers bachelor's degrees in the fields of history, politics and culture, science, law, business administration, journalism and information technology. It can master's degrees in public administration, local governance, international relations, business administration, law, America, Europe and China studies, cultural and educational management, media management, public relations, Press Officer, Health Management and Information Technology are occupied.

Financing

It is funded by tuition fees and donations and has its headquarters in a building on the campus of the Georgian Technical University. Rector of the University is Manana Sanadse.
