The community association Unstruttal in Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt was born on 1 January 2010 to form the municipality there were on July 1, 2009, the following incorporations. :
- Incorporation of the municipality cheeks into town Nebra (Unstrut )
- Incorporation of the communities Burgscheidungen and Kirchscheidungen in the city Laucha
- Incorporation of the communities Baumersroda and Ebersroda in the community Gleina
- Incorporation of the communities Pödelist, Schleberoda, Weischütz and Zeuchfeld into town Freyburg ( Unstrut)
- Incorporation of the communities Burkersroda, Größnitz and Hirschroda in the community Balgstädt
Furthermore, the community Reinsdorf was incorporated on September 1, 2010 in the town of Nebra (Unstrut ).
The population of the municipality is 17,360 (as of December 31, 2008 included Reinsdorf ). First municipality mayor is Jana Grandi.
Geography
Parts of the municipality are located on the eponymous Unstrut, on the Saale, and in the nature park Saale Unstrut Triasland.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on 20 January 2010 by the county.
Blazon: " Argent, of blue wave beams obliquely divided, above a leafy green grape, below a green disc, sprinkled with a silver disc, three silver bows and silver dots. "
The colors of the municipality are blue - white.
The municipality runs the heraldist designed by Jörg Mantzsch coat of arms of the former administrative community Unstruttal on.

The flag is blue - white ( 1:1) striped ( longitudinal shape: strip running vertically, cross- shape: strips running horizontally ) and centrally occupied with the arms of the municipality.
Traffic
By municipality area, the federal roads lead 176, 180 and 250 in cheeks, Nebra, Karsdorf, Kirchscheidungen, Lauchagrund, Balgstädt and Freyburg there are stations on the line of the railway Unstrut.
