Unsuri
Abu l -Qasim Hasan Ibn Ahmad Unsuri (Persian ابو القاسم حسن بن احمد عنصرى, DMG Abu l - Ḥasan b Qāsim Aḥmad ʿ Unṣurī, according to modern vocalization ʿ Onṣorī; . * 961 in Balch; around 1039/40 in Ghazni ) was a Persian poet.
Unsuri was apparently born in Balkh and therefore also bears the nickname Balchi ( بلخی Balḫī ). He worked at the court of Sultan Mahmud of Ghazni (998-1030) and his son, Sultan Masud of Ghazni I. ( 1030-1040 ). As " Dicherfürst " ( Amīr or Malik al -Su ʿ ara ʾ ) he enjoyed at the Ghaznavids high reputation and was proven yet on September 21, 1031 ( Feast of Breaking the Fast ) a rich reward for his art. Soon after this date, probably 1039/40 (or until 1049/50 ), Unsuri must have died.
