Urmas Välbe

Urmas Välbe ( born November 8, 1966 in Antsla, Circle Võru ) is a former Estonian cross-country skier.

Career

Välbe, who competes for Dünamo Tallinn, made ​​his international debut in the framework of cross-country skiing World Cup on January 7, 1989 in Kawgolowo. With the tenth place he immediately won his first World Cup points. It was followed, however, until March 9, 1991 in Falun, until it started in the World Cup again. This Välbe reached over 30 km in free style with the ninth place his best result of the individual career and thus also ranks 35th on the standings of the season 1990 / 91st

At the Olympic season 1991/92 Välbe was placed permanently into the squad, but missed all three World Cups before the games the points clearly. At the Olympic Winter Games in Albertville in 1992 he competed in four competitions. In individual over 10 km, it was at the end of 28, over 30 km it was after the race ranked 33rd in the relay competition he reached together with Andrus Veerpalu, Jaanus Teppan and Elmo Kassin tenth. In the two World Cups after the games Välbe fell well short of world class.
