US Open Polo Championship

The U.S. Open Polo Championship were held for the first time in 1904 in Van Cortlandt Park in New York City.

When first playing the Wanderers defeated the Meadowbrook Freebooters.

The youngest player to win the U.S. Open Polo Champions, was Polo Star Nicolas Roldan, then just 15 years old.

2009 at the U.S. Open in Florida 21 horses of the polo team from Venezuela died. During the game preparation phase dizziness, difficulty breathing, and disorientation of the horses appeared. The cause of death was poisoning, probably through the lining of the animals suspected. The value of dead horses was estimated at 2.1 million dollars.
