Utricularia graminifolia is a carnivorous plant in the genus of the water hoses ( Utricularia ). It is distributed in India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand.

Features

Utricularia graminifolia is a perennial, terrestrial, semi- aquatic or lithophytische plant of creeping habit. It forms numerous rhizoids with a thickness of about 0.2-0.3 mm. The stolons are also richly branched and several centimeters long, they form dense carpets. The leaves appear numerous and grow crowded distributed over the stolons. Their stems are rather short, the three annoying leaf blade is linear to narrow - ovate and up to 4 cm long and 6 mm wide.

The traps appear in large numbers and rising to the rhizoids, the stolons, on the petioles and even on the leaves you yourself are spherical, sitting on short stems, and their size varies between 0.5 and 2.0 mm. The vent is at the side and the left and right of the door there is a priemförmiger, glands occupied outgrowth.

The inflorescence is erect or trailing, of simple construction and unbranched. It is 4-30 cm long, the stem is round in cross section, 0.4-0.8 mm thick and hairy glandular. The bracts are fused at their base, oval and about 1.0 mm long. The flowers appear in twos or sixth. The sepals are slightly narrow - oval, the upper sepal is longer than the lower. The lower sepal has a zweizipfelige tip. The corolla is 7-15 mm long and has varying mauve or violet tones, the upper lip is slightly constricted at the level of the lower middle, the lower part is almost square, the upper part is approximately circular broad - ovate to. The lower flower lip is almost circular, with a rounded tip. The upper lip is swollen base conspicuous, the palate has a raised edge on ciliated. The flower spur is curved conical, pointed, slightly or strongly towards the front and slightly longer than the lower lip.

The seed pods are elliptical, its diameter is about 2.5 mm; the capsule walls are membrane similar. The seeds are ovate and about 0.3-0.6 mm.

Distribution and habitat

Utricularia graminifolia is native to India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Thailand. Where it grows in swamps, on wet meadows or on sickernassem rocks at altitudes of 0-1500 m.

System

Utricularia graminifolia is assigned to the section Oligocista. By 1983 Utricularia graminifolia was still regarded as a variety of Utricularia caerulea.
