Valenza
Valenza ( Valensa Piedmontese ) is a municipality with 19.434 (as of 31 December 2012) inhabitants in the province of Alessandria (AL ), Region Piedmont.
The municipality consists of the villages of Villa Bella and Montevalenza. The neighboring municipalities are Alessandria, Bassignana, Bozzole, Frascarolo, Giarole, Mirabello Monferrato, Pecetto di Valenza, Pomaro Monferrato, San Salvatore Monferrato, Suardi and Torre Beretti e Castellaro. Patron saint of the place is San Massimo.
Geography
The village lies at an altitude of 125 m above sea level on the right bank of the Po, in the foothills of the hills of Monferrato. The municipality covers an area of 50.05 km ².
Specialty
In Valenza vines of Barbera are produced that are approved for the production of Barbera del Monferrato.
