Vancouver Nats

The Vancouver Nats were a Canadian ice hockey team from Vancouver, British Columbia. The team played from 1971 to 1973 in one of the three highest Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Western Hockey League ( WHL).

History

The Vancouver Nats were established prior to the 1971/72 season as a franchise in the Western Hockey League. In his two seasons in the WHL, it missed the playoffs in each case, as it finished sixth and thus last place. Of the 136 games of the regular season, which denied the Nats, they won only 27 in the summer of 1973, the franchise was sold and to Kamloops, British Columbia, resettled, where it subsequently took part under the name of Kamloops Chiefs in the game operation of the WHL.

The gap left by the relocation of the Vancouver Nats, was closed in 2001 by the WHL franchise the Vancouver Giants.
