Variations for piano (Webern)

The variations op 27 of the Austrian composer Anton Webern are a three-movement work for solo piano. They were completed in 1936 and is the pianist Eduard helmsman dedicated. The premiere took place on 27 September 1937, Peter Stadlen instead of at the piano. The variations are a good example of Webern's tendency of perfect structuralization and a derived out of line justification of each individual sound. Thus the beginning of the first sentence as to the occurring in bar 4 gis shows mirrored, so the music would run forward and reverse play from the same. With this strong -emergent attitude of increasing serialization of each musical parameter just appear the variations as a precursor of serialism and electronic music.
