Vasil Spasov

Vasil Spassow (Bulgarian:. Васил Спасов, in engl transcription of the FIDE Vasil Spasov; born February 17, 1971 in Varna ) is a Bulgarian grandmaster in chess.

Spassow in 1989 in the Colombian Tunja world champion of the under-20s. Although he finished level on points with Poland Jacek Gdański the first place, but won the world title due to his victory in the direct encounter with Gdański, who in the meantime had been led with 1.5 points ahead of the tournament.
