Georgi Tringov

Georgi Petrov Tringow ( Bulgarian Георги Трингов, scientific transliteration Georgi Tringov; born March 7, 1937 in Plovdiv, † 3 July 2000) was a Bulgarian chess master. He won in 1959 the students Cup of Bulgaria and Bulgarian national champion in 1963, as well as in 1981 and 1986. Starting in 1962, he was an International Master, from 1963 he held the Grandmaster title.

1964 won Tringov the zone tournament of Kecskemét and qualified for the Interzonal in Amsterdam, in which he reached the 15th place. He represented Bulgaria twelve times in chess Olympiads, namely in the years 1956, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1968, 1970, 1972, 1974, 1978, 1980 and 1982 He twice scored the best individual board result: ., 1968 to board 2 and 1978 on board 3 in 1968 won the Bulgarian team a bronze medal.
