Vasile Iordache

Vasile Iordache ( born October 9, 1950 in Iaşi ) is a former Romanian football player and later coach. The goalkeeper played 271 games in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A. As a national player, he participated in the European Football Championship 1984.

Career as a player

The career of Vasile Iordache began in 1969 in his hometown of Iasi at Politehnica Iaşi, when he was called into the squad for the first team and on August 24, 1969 came his first appearance in the League 1. In the season 1970/71 season he established himself as a regular player and changed in the summer of 1971, the Romanian team Steaua Bucharest tip.

After initial difficulties, he competed first with Carol Haidu, later with Dumitru Moraru to the place in goal for Steaua. None of the goalkeeper came out over a longer period of time regularly used. Only in a duel with Necula Răducanu Iordache was able to maintain his place and was from 1979 to 1982 the undisputed number 1 Towards the end of his time at Steaua he was finally ousted by Helmuth Duck Adam out of the gate.

With Steaua Iordache won numerous titles. In addition to two league titles in 1976 and 1978, he also celebrated two Cup wins in 1976 and 1979. In 1984 he finally left Steaua and changed within the Divizia A to FCM Braşov, where he served as player-coach. In 1986, he hung up his football boots to the final nail.

National

Vasile Iordache came to 25 appearances for the Romanian national football team. He made his debut on 12 May 1976 the first leg of the finals to the Balkan Cup against Bulgaria. Due to the large supply of Romanian goalkeepers he came in only a few international matches, and was used only in 1980 the number one. In 1984 Iordache was in the squad for the European Championship in France, but could not prevail against Dumitru Moraru and Silviu Lung, so it was not used. His last international game he played on 31 July 1984 friendly match against China.

Career as a coach

Already at the end of his active career was Iordache player-coach of FCM Braşov in Divizia A. Already in the 1985/86 season, he focused primarily on the job to the sidelines. In 1986 he left after two years of Braşov and returned as a goalkeeper coach to his former club Steaua Bucharest. The activity he interrupted in the 1990/91 season, when he was head coach of Universitatea Cluj as the successor of Ion Ciocan. During the winter break, he was released lying in last place.

In 1994 Iordache Romania Steaua and left and took over Al Shabab in the United Arab Emirates. There he was able in 1995 to celebrate the championship and in 1997 the Cup victory. About Al -Ahli Iordache came to Al Ain, where he again won the national championship.

In 2002 Iordache returned to Romania and was Cosmin Olăroiu goalkeeping coach at Steaua. This he accompanied on his next stations FC Naţional Bucharest and FC Timişoara, before he returned to Steaua. Later, he was an assistant coach at unterklassigen clubs.
