History

The Västerviks IK was founded in 1971. The team played in the 1990s several times in the then still second-class Division 1 in the 1999/2000 season the team competed in the now third-rate Division 1, but increased at the end of the season in the now fourth-rate from Division 2. Only in the relegation season of 2007/ 08 managed to return to Division 1 in the 2010/11 season it rose again from the Division 2, but reached the following year direct resurgence.
