Vedelago

Vedelago is a northern Italian municipality ( Comune ) with 16,502 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012) in the province of Treviso in Veneto.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 35 kilometers north- west of Venice and 20 km west of Treviso. Vedelago borders the province of Padua.

The districts of Vedelago hot Albaredo Barcon, Carpenedo Casacorba, Cavasagra, Fanzolo and Fossalunga.

The neighboring communities of Vedelago are Altivole, Castelfranco Veneto, Istrana Montebelluna, Piombino Dese (PD ), Resana, Riese Pio X and Trevignano.

The river Sile rises near the hamlet Casacorba.

Attractions

Vedelago is made ​​famous by the Villa Emo in the district Fanzolo. The plant was built by Andrea Palladio in 1559 and since 1994 has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site " Vicenza and the Palladian Villas of the Veneto region ."
