Venus of Moravany

The Venus of Moravany (Slovak Moravianska VENUSA ) is a Venusfigurine, which was found near Moravany nad Váhom in Slovakia.

The estimated age of the figurine is 22.8 thousand years, it is made of mammoth ivory. Comparable findings of the area are the Venus of Willendorf in Lower Austria and the Venus of Dolni Věstonie in the Czech Republic near Břeclav.

The 7.6 cm statuette was found in 1938 and is now the oldest work of art in Slovakia at the Slovak National Museum in Bratislava.
