Vera Popkova

Vera Ivanovna Popkowa (Russian Вера Ивановна Попкова, English transcription Vera Popkova, . Born April 2, 1943 in Chelyabinsk, † 29 September 2011 in Lviv ) was a Soviet sprinter.

Career

At the European Athletics Championships in Budapest in 1966, she won the 200m and bronze respectively in the 4 x 100 - meter relay. About 100 m it was fifth.

In 1968, she reached the semifinals at the Olympic Games in Mexico City about 200 m. In the 4 x 100 meters relay she won the bronze medal with the Soviet team.

In 1971 she won at the Indoor Athletics Championships in the 400m. In the same year she won the 4 x 400 - meter relay the European Championships in Helsinki with the Soviet team bronze.

Soviet Master, it was washed twice over 100 m (1966, 1967) and 200m (1965, 1966) and even over 400 m (1970). In the hall, she won the national title in 1966 over 300 m and 1971 over 200 m and about 400 m.
