Verkhnekolymsky District

The Werchnekolymski ulus (Russian Верхнеколымский улус, also Верхнеколымский район, rajon Werchnekolymski; Yakut Үөһээ Халыма улууһа, Üöhee Chalyma uluuha ) is one of the 34 Ulusse ( Rajons ) of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia ) in the north of the Russian Far East Federal District. It is located in the northeast of the Republic inland, south of the Srednekolymski ulus. To the east it borders the Magadan Oblast. Geography

The Ulus has an area of ​​approximately 67,800 km ², slightly smaller than Bavaria, and is crossed by the Arctic Circle.
