Verquières
Verquières is a commune with 815 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Bouches -du -Rhône in the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur.
Geography
The community is located ten kilometers northeast of Saint- Remy- de -Provence and 20 kilometers southeast of Avignon. The community is located about five kilometers inland from the Durance, which forms the border with the department of Vaucluse.
History
The town was founded in the 12th century. In the 14th century the church was built St. Vérédème. During the Revolution, the church was disbanded in 1841 and re-established.
Culture and sights
- Church of St. Vérédème: Especially is its bell tower with arches. The wrought iron cross was made by Rev. Roy, who in the community was pastor 1876-1894.

Economy and infrastructure
Outside the town center runs the N7, which leads to Avignon. The town is a center of fruit and vegetable production.
Policy
The Conservative Jean -Marc Martin- Teissère is the municipality mayor since 2001.
