VfB Fortuna Chemnitz

VfB Fortuna Chemnitz is a football club based in the Saxon town of Chemnitz. It was created in 2005 from a merger of the two football clubs VfB Chemnitz Chemnitz and SV Fortuna Furth Glösa. The colors of the club are blue and yellow. Homestead were the stadium at Claus Road and Stadium at Kurt Wieland Street, CURRENT Stadium is the stadium at the Chemnitztalstraße.

Club history

The club's history is marked especially by the frequent name changes. The club in 1901 as Reunion Chemnitz was founded. In 1914 it was renamed FC Hohenzollern. From 1919, they played as VfB Chemnitz. In 1938, a merger with the SV Teutonia 1901 Chemnitz, the new club 's name was now the Sports Association 01 Chemnitz. After the war, the club launched under the name SG Chemnitz Castle. Even then stood back to several name changes. Then they played as SPAs trade and social insurance, later under the well-known name BSG Motor " Fritz Heckert " Karl- Marx-Stadt. Sports career

VfB lay in the county league ( until 1923 ) and Gauliga Central Saxony (until 1933 ) mostly on midfield squares. In 1919 the club won the championship in the district of Central Saxony, which entitled to participate in the central German championship. Here was defeated VfB in the second round of the Dresden football ring with 2:3. In the GDR, the club played continuously since 1978 in the DDR -Liga, after the political turn in the NOFV League, Season B. SV Teutonia 1901 Chemnitz

The predecessor SV Teutonia Chemnitz, with the VfB Chemnitz merged in 1938, was founded on 1 November 1901. Homestead of the association was the West arena. The club colors were blue and white. Teutonia played nine years in the Gauliga Central Saxony, whose championship was won in 1918. In the subsequent play for the Central German championship, the Chemnitz resigned after a 1:8 defeat against the Dresden SG 1893 in the quarterfinals. Until 1937 Teutonia dismounted in the circle class.
