VfL Bergen

VfL Bergen 94 is a German multi-genre club from Bergen auf Rügen. Homestead of the association is the Ernst- Moritz- Arndt- stadium, which offers 4,000 spectators.

VfL Bergen was founded in 1938 as a unit mountains. After the dissolution of the club took place in 1945 was re-established after the war as Rugia mountains. In the following years further name change took place in 1949 in KWU mountains and from 1951 in unit mountains.

With the boarding of the Deutsche Reichsbahn as carrier operation, improved the sporting environment. The association of the island of Rügen was renamed in 1961 in BSG locomotive mountains. 1971 succeeded Lok mountains of the rise of the district league Rostock in East Germany League. The second- highest division of the GDR had to leave together with unit Grevesmühlen Lok again after just one season. 1974 managed mountains with narrow lead against engine Wolgast again to return to the league. Could the re- immediate re- descent in the season 1974/75 still be prevented, the Rüganer 1976 had finally relegated to the District League.

In 1989, Lok from mountains in the district fourth-rate class and was built after the turn in the national league. At the same time, the club played in 1990 under the name ESV mountains. In 1994, the last name was changed to VfL Bergen was 94th on the sporting level VfL shuttled from the nineties between national league and League Association Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in which Bergen from 1995 to 1999 and from 2004 to 2006 acted. Current division is the division of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern.
