Viacheslav Zagorodniuk

Vyacheslav Sagorodnjuk (Ukrainian Вячеслав Загороднюк, born August 11, 1972 in Odessa ) is a retired Ukrainian figure skater, who started in a single run. He is the European champion of 1996.

Sagorodnjuk represented first the USSR and after its disintegration Ukraine. His trainer was Galina Smijewskaja and later Valentin Nikolayev.

1989 Sagorodnjuk won the Junior World Championships. At the World Figure Skating Championships 1994 he won bronze behind Elvis Stojko and Philippe Candeloro his only world championship medal. He became European Champion in 1996 in Sofia. Overall, he won six medals at the European Championships.

In April 1998, he finished his amateur career and turned professional. He starred in several film and television productions skaters. Among other things, in "The Christmas Angel: A Story on Ice". He currently works as a trainer in Richmond, Virginia.
