Vic Heyliger

Victor " Vic" Heyliger ( born September 26, 1919 in Boston, Massachusetts, † October 4, 2006 in Colorado Springs, Colorado ) was an American professional ice hockey player ( center ) and coach and member of the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.

Career

After three seasons at the University of Michigan in the National Collegiate Athletic Association completed Heyliger in the season 1937/38, his first professional season with the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, the American in seven NHL games point and impunity remained. In the same season he also stood for the St. Paul Saints in the Amateur Hockey Association on the ice. The following season, spent the striker at the Detroit Holzbaugh Ford in the Michigan - Ontario Hockey League. Then Heyliger was working as a hockey coach and oversaw until 1943 in the role of head coach the hockey team of the University of Illinois.

1961, the American was appointed as successor to Karl Wild for national coach of the German national team, he was responsible to the World Cup 1963. 1974 Heyliger was honored with induction into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame.
