Balaguer took part in the first pre-selection for the Grand Prix of Spain Euro Vision 1961, but lost the singer Conchita Bautista with only one point. A year later he made it: he won the preselection and was allowed to represent Spain at the Grand Prix Euro Vision 1962 in Luxembourg entitled llámame. However, he was awarded by the jury no point and was last together with Belgium, Austria and the Netherlands. He was also known as a singer Catalan song good in Spain. He died of cancer in 1984.
