Víctor Polay

Victor Polay Campos ( born April 6, 1951 in Callao, Peru ) is one of the founders of the Peruvian Movimiento Revolucionario Túpac underground organization Amaru ( MRTA ), which operated mainly to 1997.

The end of 1980s he was imprisoned Polay. In July 1990, Victor Polay and 46 more MRTA comrades from the Canto Grande prison broke out over a 315 -meter-long tunnel dug.

On 22 March 2006 he was sentenced for 30 offenses he had committed with the MRTA in the 80s and 90s, to 32 years in prison. This sentence he is serving in a prison in the naval base in Callao, where, among other things, Abimael Guzmán, the founder of the terrorist group Sendero Luminoso, and the former intelligence chief Vladimiro Montesinos in Peru are imprisoned.
