Viktor Lebedev

Viktor Nikolaevich Lebedev (Russian: Виктор Николаевич Лебедев; * March 10, 1988 or March 15, 1989 ) is a Russian wrestler. He was 2010 World Champion in free style bantamweight.

Career

Viktor Lebedev, the Yakut descent, began in 2002 as a teenager with the rings. He is now a member of the Russian Army and assigned to the Army Sports Club SKA Krasnoyarsk. He is or has been trained there by Dimitri and Vladimir Mindiaschwili Modosjan. The 1.65 meter tall athlete is a student and started exclusively in free style.

As a junior, he started in 2006 at the Junior World Championship in Guatemala City in the weight class up to 50 kg body weight and won the world title in front of Ahmet Peker from Turkey, Patrick McCaffrey from the United States and Abbas Dabbighi Somak from Iran there.

After this great success, it took until 2009 until he was able to prevail in Russia against tough competition and has been used in international championships at senior level. In 2009 he was also the first time Russian champion in the bantamweight title before Osip Mikhailov, Rasul Masezew and Nariman Israpilow. At the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark he won the bantamweight title over Hector Camacho from Venezuela, the 2006 world champion Radoslaw Welikow from Bulgaria and Mihran Jaburjan from Armenia. In the semifinals he was defeated by Sezer Akgül from Turkey, but defeated in the battle for a world championship bronze medal Namig Sewdimow from Azerbaijan.

In 2010, Viktor Lebedev won again at the Russian bantamweight championship and referred Ramazan Sajputdinow, Peter Siwtschew and Jamal Otarsultanow to the places. Then he started in Baku for the first time at a European Championship, defeating Vladislav Andreyev there from Belarus and Vladimir Chinchegaschwili from Georgia.
