Villacidro

Villacidro is a municipality with 14.232 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in Sardinia. Villacidro is the capital of the Province of Medio Campidano founded in 2001 in the southwest of the island.

During the Second World War was between Villacidro and Serramanna the military airfield Villacidro - Trunconi ( 39.4219444444448.8247222222222 ⊙ ), which was used successively by the Italian, German and American air forces. On the site now houses, among others, a racecourse.
