Villepinte (Seine-Saint-Denis)

Villepinte is a French city in the Seine -Saint- Denis, Ile- de -France region with 35.850 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) and is located around 18 km north-east of the center of Paris.

At Villepinte borders the municipalities of Tremblay -en -France, Aulnay -sous- Bois, Sevran, Vaujours and Gonesse.

History

The old center ( " le Vieux- Pays ") of occupied since the 9th century originally dominated by agriculture village has largely preserved its historic character.

Due to the convenient transport industry and trade new housing estates have settled here since the 1960s, emerged. Since 1981, here, the fairgrounds is ( Parc des Expositions), Paris -Nord.

Villepinte is the headquarters of the pharmaceutical company Guerbet.
