Vinohrady nad Váhom

Vinohrady nad Váhom is a municipality in western Slovakia, with 1574 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and is located in Okres Galanta, kraj part of Trnavský.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Slovak Danube lowland, more specifically in the Danube hills on the left bank of the Waag. Landscape formative are the vineyards that are exposed to the southwest, and gave the community its name ( Vinohrady nad Váhom means " vineyards at the Waag "). The center is five kilometers from Sered and 20 kilometers Hlohovecký.

History

Today's church was built in 1958 after the spin-off from the community Šintava; previously contributed, the area was a district of which the name Šintavské Vinohrady. The oldest part of the church was mentioned in 1113 as Rauzt in the Zoborská documents in writing; later called the place became an important part of the territory called Svätý CHRAST. The further history to 1958 is closely connected with the history of Šintava.
