Virginia Dare

Virginia Dare ( born August 18, 1587 Roanoke, † unknown) is considered the first English child to be born in the New World on the territory of the present United States.

Virginia Dare's parents were Eleanor and Ananias Dare. Eleanor Dare was the daughter of John White, of Sir Walter Raleigh's member of the expedition, on the Roanoke Iceland in eastern North Carolina established the first English colony in America in 1585.

After John White returned in 1590 from the provisions procurement from England, he found no trace of the English settlers, and thus also the trace of the small Virginia loses. The place where the English settlers are gone, is called The Lost Colony ( The Lost Colony ).

After Virginia Dare has been named among other things, Dare County, North Carolina.
