Visions of Eight

Munich 1972-8 famous directors see the Games of the XX. Olympiad ( alternatively Olympics '72 Munich, original title Visions of Eight ) is an American- German documentary from 1973 about the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.

Background

Munich 1972 premiered at the International Film Festival of Cannes in 1973, but not in the competition. The film opened on 10 August 1973 in the U.S. and on September 13, 1973 in the German cinemas.

To anniversaries to the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 was shown repeatedly on German television, most recently for the 40th anniversary in August 2012.

In the German version of the film Ernst Huberty can be heard in some scenes as off-speakers.
