Visso
Visso is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 1178 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Macerata in the Marche region. The village is located approximately 50.5 km southwest of Macerata in the Nera at the Monti Sibillini National Park, part of the Comunità montana di Camerino and directly borders the province of Perugia (Umbria ).
History
In the village there is a Sabine foundation, which was called by the Romans Vicus Elacensis. 575/576 the town was taken by the Lombards in possession and assigned to the Duke of Spoleto.
Traffic
Through the community's former Strada Statale 209 Valnerina leads from Terni to Muccia.
