Vivien Crea

Vice Admiral Vivien S. Crea ( born 1952 ) is a former Flagoffizier the United States Coast Guard. She served as Vice Commander of the Coast Guard. Below Admiral Thad W. Allen Vice Admiral Crea held the second- highest office of the strike force and was the first woman in that position in the history of the U.S. Coast Guard. Their position was taken over by Vice Admiral David Pekoske 2009.

Vice Admiral Crea flew at the Coast Guard use the sample Lockheed C -130 Hercules turboprop, HH -65 Dolphin and Grumman Gulfstream II She was Director ( Chief Information Officer) of the Department of Information and Technology and director of the research program ( Research and Development program). Prior to her appointment as Vice Commandant led from July 16, 2004, the Coast Guard Atlantic Area with five districts and 63,000 employees, and was also the Commander, U.S. Maritime Defense Zone Atlantic ( Commanding Admiral of the Atlantic defense zone ).

Vice Admiral Crea received, among others, the following awards: the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit ( four times) and the Meritorious Service Medal. She studied among others at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at Central Michigan University and the University of Texas.
