Vladimir Micov

Vladimir Micov ( Serbian Cyrillic Влaдимир Мицов; born April 16, 1985 in Belgrade, SR Serbia) is a Serbian professional basketball player. Micov began his career in his native Serbia and Montenegro, where he later won with KK Partizan from his birthplace and KK Budućnost Podgorica both the Championships of Serbia and of Montenegro. Since 2009 he plays abroad and came across Greece, Spain and Italy in 2012 the dominant Russian series champion CSKA Moscow, with which he in 2013 both the Russian championship and the title in the Eastern European VTB United League 2012/13 won.

Career

Micov began his career with KK Red Star in his hometown, before moving to local rivals OKK 2003. A year later he went to KK Lavovi 063 in Belgrade, who had to leave after three years of service in the highest national league in 2005. Having already won the Serbian- Montenegrin national youth team, the U16 European Championship in 2001, he won the junior national team under coach Luka Pavićević among others, along with Luka Bogdanovic, Tadija Dragicevic, Nikola Peković, Branislav Ratkovica, Uroš Tripković and Novica Veličković at the U20 European Championship 2005, a bronze medal. Then Micov then played at KK Budućnost from the Montenegrin capital Podgorica. After the separation from Serbia in 2006 Budućnost within Montenegro was hard to beat, and in March 2007 Micov returned after winning the title in the Montenegrin Cup competition on loan to his hometown back and won with KK Partizan their sixth national championship in a row. When first title win for Partizan in the ABA League 2007 before playing for Budućnost Micov was not entitled to use. After Micov had returned to Budućnost, he won with this team in the 2007/ 08 season, the Montenegrin double of league and cup competition. In the 2008 /09 season they won for the third time in a row cup competition, but before the next championship win Micov left the team again in March 2009 and played in the A1 Ethniki for Panionios Athens from the season to end. However Panionios retired in the first play-off round of the Greek Cup against Aris Thessaloniki.

For the 2009/10 season Micov got a contract with Caja Laboral Vitoria -Gasteiz in the ACB league, which should win the Spanish championship that season and one of the leading clubs in Europe are counted. Micov came here but not as desired for the course and in December 2009 they parted again. The following month Micov then got a contract with the club tradition of Cantu in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A. After the fourth place at the end of the main round, they lost the play-off semi-final series against series champion Montepaschi Siena. In the following season they moved in second in the play-offs and also reached the finals series, which was again lost to defending champion Siena. In the play-offs of the 2011/12 season they went in the first round as the main round third with two wins in front, but lost the remaining three games against Scavolini Pesaro and retired early from out of the championship will be decided. However Micov received a contract with the European giants and ULEB Euro League Vice CSKA Moscow in the port. With the Russian series champion he could defend its title in the Russian PBL and the Eastern European VTB United League success in the 2012/13 season. The " Final Four " of the {' ULEB Euro League 2012/13 Micov lost with his Serbian compatriots Miloš Teodosić and Nenad Krstic in the semifinals in a rematch of last year's final against defending champion Olympiakos Piraeus. In contrast to his team-mates in Moscow Teodosić and Krstić Micov has not yet been taken into account for a final squad of the Serbian national team.
