Geography
The town lies about 18 kilometers south Vöhringen of Ulm and 40 kilometers north of Memmingen at the Iller. It belongs to the Danube-Iller region in central Bavaria.
Neighboring communities
Vöhringen bordered to the north by the town of Senden, to the east by the city of White Horn, in the south on the community of Bell Mountain and on the west by the Baden-Württemberg community Illerrieden.

History

Illerberg and Thal
Illerberg with over 1,700 and valley with about 600 inhabitants, located about two kilometers east of Vöhringen and are still dominated by agriculture in their village centers. Cultural
Opened in 1993 Cultural Wolfgang Eychmüller House, named after the freedom of the city Vöhringen and former CEO of Wieland-Werke AG, is the social and cultural center in the city and throughout the surrounding area. The premises are lively and varied used by clubs, associations and art and cultural workers of all kinds. The great hall, with its 600 seats with a sophisticated platform for numerous events, such as meetings, concerts and theater performances, as well as weddings and the like.

The biggest club in Vöhringen is the sports club Vöhringen 1893 eV with about 3,000 members, divided into 19 departments.

Vöhringen has a connection to the A 7 Ulm -Memmingen. The downgraded to the main road of the B 19 Ulm -Memmingen -Kempten is now passed as a bypass road to the city. Next there is a station on the main line Ulm - Oberstdorf ( Iller Valley Railway ).
