Vojčice

Vojčice (Hungarian Vecse ) is a town in eastern Slovakia, with 2179 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011). Administratively it belongs to the Okres Trebišov, which is a part of the district Košice kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located in the East Slovak Lowland at the height of 108 m nm and is only six kilometers from Trebišov.

History

The first written mention dates back to 1217th First, the place was owned by the local landowners, then since the late 14th century to the estate of Trebischau. In the 19th and 20th centuries the families Csáky, Forgách and Andrássy had their goods here. 1828 there were 98 houses and 713 inhabitants.
