The Volvo Cars Gent N.V. (until 2007 Volvo Cars Europe Industry NV) is an automobile manufacturer from the port area of ​​the city of Ghent in Belgium. Former model series

The work at the plant was recorded in the fall of 1965 with the installation of identical models 120, 121, 122 and 130, which rolled here as a sister model of the Swedish Amazon in the body styles saloon, coupé and estate cars off the line. With the setting of different model types in 1967 finally was left only the model 130, which has been continued in production until the end of 1969. The adjusted models, however, had been replaced by the notchback 144 and the identical station wagons 145.

After nearly six years of production Volvo established in 1974, finally, the Model 240 on the European market, which was available as a saloon and as a station wagon. In the higher trim level had been marketed in parallel to the Saloon and 244 and the Combined than 245.

As early as 1983, almost two years before the local production end of the 240 series, you now put on the successor models 740 and 760. After a technical revision, there was the Model 1991 from also known as 940, but was discontinued in the following year, together with his two older sister models. The more modern 850 was introduced along with the 940 on the European markets. Volvo had built the 850 still up in the year 1996 into it. All these four models were available both as a saloon and station wagon.

As a replacement for the 850 put Volvo in the summer of 1996 the notchback sedan S70 and the V70 combi, both of which optically very oriented to the predecessors. In the new millennium Volvo now proposed a new style and now replaced it predecessor, the new S60 saloon and station wagon by the second generation of the V70. For the compact class, however, there was, from 2003 Models S40 and V50, which were virtually identical to the middle class models, S60 and V70.
