The Vyatka (Russian Вятка, Tatar Нократ / Noqrat, Udmurt Ватка, mari Виче ) is a 1314 km long tributary of the Kama in the East of the European part of Russia.
Description
The river rises at about 58.20 ° North, 52.20 ° East in the Kamahöhen in the Russian Republic of Udmurtia, flows north, bends to the west and then flows to the southwest by Kirov. Then the Vyatka bends to the southeast to open approximately 35 kilometers west of Nizhnekamsk in the Kama.
The Vyatka is the principal river of the county Kirov Oblast and is - if it is not frozen over - mostly navigable.
From 1780 to 1934 Vyatka was also the name of the city of Kirov.
