Origin and family

Wadjmes was probably born some years before the accession of his father Thutmose I.. It is not certain that his mother was the Great Royal Wife Ahmose, as their only two daughters Hatshepsut and Nofrubiti can be assigned as safe due to the recent discovery location.

According to Egyptologists Aidan Dodson is however widely believed that both Wadjmes and Amunmose sons from this relationship were. Michael Höveler -Müller other hand, sees Wadjmes a son of the concubine Mutnofret.

Like his brother also died Amunmose Wadjmes still his father's lifetime, so Thutmose I. another son with Mutnofret, Thutmose II, who succeeded to the throne.

Documents

In the grave of Paheri in El- Kab Wadjmes is shown sitting on the lap of his tutor. In the same grave there is another showing him together with his brother Amunmose. His name is there the term " son of the king " (Sat nisut ) operating systems. In the West Bank, between the later Ramesseum and the mortuary temple of Thutmose IV, there is a chapel dedicated to him. It was probably built in the reign of his brother / half-brother Thutmose II.
