Walcott is a small town that lies partly in Scott County and partly in Muscatine County in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Iowa. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with Illinois and deviating from his usual flow direction increases at this point at this point a western course, flows approximately 17 km south of the city. History
The town was founded in 1854 and is named after William Walcott, then director of the Chicago and Rock Iceland Railroad, which significantly contributed with a donation of USD 500 to build the first school in Walcott.
